The Program

The Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) was established in 2017 to support and implement Australia’s aid programs such as health, education, Australia Awards and governance in Fiji. The Facility also supports the Australia Awards and education programs in Tuvalu. The Facility integrates cross-cutting themes, including gender equality, disability inclusion, climate change, emergency preparedness and response and civil society engagement, across sectoral programs. In particular, the Facility seeks to strengthen program outcomes by better addressing the needs of targeted beneficiaries including those who are often marginalised.

As part of its portfolio of work, the Facility administers a fund to rapidly mobilise local and international experts to support the implementation of Fiji’s priority policies and reforms in agreed areas, including public sector performance, supporting Fiji’s stability, prosperity, and resilience to shocks. **

The Position

The Job Evaluation and Civil Service Remuneration Guideline Adviser (the Adviser) will provide ongoing support and advice for Fijian Government Ministries in the consistent implementation of the Job Evaluation Civil Service Remuneration (JECSR) Guideline. The JECSR provides the policy basis for ongoing Job Evaluation in the Civil Service, and requires central moderation of ministry Job Evaluations, to ensure consistency of evaluations across the Civil Service.

The Person

The successful candidate will have senior experience in reviewing and advising on the impact of policies, preferably in the Human Resource Management field. The candidate will also have significant experience in change management, including advising senior management on risks and implementation requirements for major change, and in the consistent interpretation of policies. In addition, the candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to quickly build and maintain strong relationships with people from varying backgrounds, levels and experience.

Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline and significant experience in the application of points factor job evaluation methodologies, preferably in the use of SP10 or similar methodology is a requirement for this position.

This position is open to Fijian citizens and non-Fijian citizens already residing in Fiji.
