The Program
The Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) was established in 2017 to support and implement Australia’s aid programs such as health, education, Australia Awards and governance in Fiji. The Facility also supports the Australia Awards and education programs in Tuvalu. The Facility integrates cross-cutting themes, including gender equality, disability inclusion, climate change, emergency preparedness and response and civil society engagement, across sectoral programs. In particular, the Facility seeks to strengthen program outcomes by better addressing the needs of targeted beneficiaries including those who are often marginalised.
As part of its portfolio of work, the Facility administers a fund to rapidly mobilise local and international experts to support the implementation of Fiji’s priority policies and reforms in agreed areas, including public sector performance, supporting Fiji’s stability, prosperity, and resilience to shocks.
The Position
The Whole of Government Strategic Workforce Planning Adviser (the Adviser) will provide support, training, coaching and mentoring for senior executives (and their staff) across the public sector to effectively facilitate the development of contemporary Strategic Workforce Plans.
The Adviser will develop reports on workforce projections and gaps, scarce skills and facilitate a process with key stakeholders to identify solutions and reform initiatives.
The Person
The successful candidate will have Senior experience in Workforce Planning including modelling, forecasting and developing strategies and plans. The candidate will also have significant public sector experience advising senior management and will be familiar with local Fijian government functions and systems. In addition to having strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to quickly build and maintain strong relationships with people from varying backgrounds, levels and experience, the candidate will demonstrate cultural sensitivity and the capacity to mainstream crosscutting themes into program activities.
A university degree (and preferably a Masters degree) in, Organisational Development, Strategic Workforce Planning, Human Resource Management, Learning and Development, or a related field from a recognised University is a requirement for this position.
This position is open to Fijian citizens and non-Fijian citizens already in Fiji.
