The Program
The Australian Government has established the Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) in partnership with the Government of Fiji to implement its education, health and scholarship aid programs in Fiji and its scholarship program in Tuvalu. The Facility will also support the delivery of Australia’s emergency preparedness and response efforts and governance sector support. As with all Australian Government aid, cross cutting priorities of civil society engagement, gender equality, disability inclusiveness, child protection and climate change will be integrated across all programs.
Australia’s Support to Fiji’s Education Sector (the Program) is a key component of the Facility. The focus of the support is on strengthening education service delivery as well as education systems strengthening, in particular literacy and numeracy, inclusive education, Fiji Education Management Information System (FEMIS), internet connectivity, and teacher preparation and development. The company managing the Facility on behalf of the Australian Government, Coffey, is currently seeking applications for the role of Human Resource Documentation Adviser.
The Position
The Human Resource Documentation Adviser will be based at the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts (MEHA) and will be working to address existing employment issues, developing documented procedures to guide contract management and developing the skills and knowledge of staff to improve their ability to effectively manage employment contracts. Key responsibilities include:
- Work with the Employee Administration, Performance and Discipline and Contracting Units and the Contract Audit Team to identify systemic document management issues and develop appropriate solutions including standard forms and process for workers’ compensation, and organisational health and safety (OHS).
- Develop the skills of the relevant teams in preparing professional and legally compliant correspondence relating to employment documentation.
- Develop the knowledge and ability of Employee Administration, Performance and Discipline and Contracting Units in establishment processes which ensure accuracy and attention to detail in preparing employment documentation.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Human Resources, Law or other relevant discipline and possess a good understanding of Fiji employment legislation. The candidate must have senior level experience in employee management and experience developing the skills and knowledge of staff and guiding a team in managing changes in processes and practices. Excellent communication and analytical skills are also required.
