The Program
The goal of Australia Awards in Indonesia is that: Indonesia’s development is enhanced by the contribution of internationally qualified professionals and a strong and positive relationship with Australia. This will contribute across the whole scope of the Australia Indonesia Partnership, including its goal to work in partnership with Indonesia to achieve a more prosperous, safe and democratic Indonesia. The program logic sets out five end of program outcomes aligned with the two global objectives of Australia Awards 2018 – 2022.
Coffey is currently seeking applications for an In-Australia Engagement Adviser to contribute to Australia Awards in Indonesia 2018-2022.
The Position
The In-Australia Engagement Adviser (IAEA) will work with Government of Australia (GoA), universities and the private sector to explore opportunities for building engagement with AAI, the Alumni and other stakeholders in Indonesia, through activities such as presentations, networking, internships, volunteering or collaborative research. These extra-circular activities negotiated with universities may contribute to an enhanced study experience and build more meaningful links between the awardees and Australians while on-award.
With the support of the Communications and Promotions team, the OAA will deliver key aspects of the promotion of AAI in Australia. This will involve engaging with GoA, universities and other in-Australia stakeholders to develop a common understanding, accountability and shared learning from AAI.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate field of study; possess the ability to think and operate strategically and responsively in forming and maintaining relationships with partner agencies at all levels and with all other stakeholders including DFAT and the Government of Indonesia (GoI) Ministry of State Secretariat (KemenSetNeg).
This role will require the incumbent to present oral and written information strategically, clearly and engagingly to foster respect, dialogue, engagement and commitment from partner agencies and stakeholders, therefore a high level of interpersonal skills will be required. Essential to the role will be the need for knowledge of the GoA and GoI, their respective structures for ministries and departments, GoI’s bureaucratic reform process and HRD approaches.
