The Program
The Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) was established in 2017 to support and implement Australia’s aid programs in sectors including health, education, Australia Awards and governance in Fiji. The Facility also supports the Australia Awards and Education programs in Tuvalu. The Facility integrates cross-cutting themes, including gender equality, disability inclusion, climate change, emergency preparedness and response and civil society engagement, across sectoral programs. The Facility seeks to strengthen program outcomes by better addressing the needs of targeted beneficiaries including those who are often marginalised.
Working in close partnership with the Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts (MEHA), Australia’s Support to Fiji’s Education Sector program (the Program) focuses on strengthening MEHA HR capacity, literacy and numeracy, inclusive education, Fiji Education Management Information System (FEMIS), and teacher preparation and development.
The company managing the Facility on behalf of the Australian Government, Coffey, is currently seeking applications for the role of Program Officer.
The Position
The Program Officer - Fiji Education Program will provide support to manage the process of designing and implementing Fiji Education Program activities in partnership with MEHA to achieve its goal and objectives, demonstrating high-quality results and sustainable impact.
The position will proactively build and maintain key relationships with MEHA officers at an operational level to facilitate a close working relationship between the program and the Ministry to support the effective delivery of the program.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have a degree level tertiary qualification in Education or another relevant field. Combined with your experience in Project Management, your technical expertise in supporting program monitoring and evaluation and your knowledge in administration and records management, you will also demonstrate an ability to quickly build and maintain strong relationships with people from varying backgrounds and levels.
Importantly, you will display knowledge of Government of Fiji systems and protocol in relation to operational activities and approval processes as well as acumen in preparing reports. Furthermore, you will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be adaptable and flexible in a team-oriented environment.
